Pavements are for people not cars say Derbyshire Police after car drives up to a North Wingfield front door

A motorist has been given a ticket for driving up a pavement to drop a passenger off at their front door – all while the police watched the ‘strange’ events unfold.

Derbyshire Roads Police explained why someone was given a ticket Friday, February 19, in North Wingfield after a it went off road.

Speaking on Twitter the force said: “Think he doesn't want to speak to us or making off? No, just lazy and was dropping someone at a front door. Ticket. Strange. Pavements are for people.”

A ticket for the driver offering door to door service off road and in front of a police car
