The Inn, at Troway, near Eckington has been closed since June 2018 and is the subject of an ongoing planning application to covert it into two homes, with a further two pairs of semi-detached homes built alongside the original building.

A planning statement for the development states: “The pub has been the subject of numerous break-ins, vandalism, fly-tipping and theft and is currently in extremely poor repair internally.

"The majority of the pipes and cabling have been stripped from the building, radiators ripped off the walls, bathrooms and kitchen completely vandalised. Windows and internal fittings smashed. Roofing materials, and even rooflights, have been stolen.”

A spokesperson for the development said anything of value was removed from the building, including roof slates, following legal advice.
