Missing Derbyshire man could have been hitchhiking on A632 towards Chesterfield

Police are continuing to search for a missing Derbyshire man who they believe could have been hitchhiking on the A632 towards Chesterfield before his disappearance.

Joshua Jones went missing from Matlock over the weekend and police officers searching for him are urging anyone who picked up a hitchhiker on Saturday, December 12 to come forward.

He was last seen in the Hurst Rise area at 11.30am on Saturday and is reported to have been wearing a pair of blue jeans, a grey Superdry coat, which is darker on the sleeves, alongside a hood that is green on the inside.

Police received numerous sightings of a man matching the description of Joshua who was on the A636 heading towards Chesterfield at around 4pm that same day.

Officers want to hear from anyone else who may have been hitchhiking in the same area yesterday in order to establish whether the man seen was Joshua.
