Police have charged a man for allegedly behaving aggressively and causing damage to Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

James Wright, 48, of no fixed abode, was charged after officers received a report of a male behaving aggressively at Chesterfield Royal Hospital yesterday (Wednesday, January 6).

Officers attended the healthcare facility and claimed Wright was causing damage at the hospital, while also allegedly in breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order.

In a post on Facebook, Chesterfield Town Centre Neighbourhood Police Team said: “Another day, another arrest...... right at the end of the shift!

“Report of aggressive male at hospital.... officers attend and recognise him from a reported shop theft.... male also subject of a Criminal Behaviour Order which he is in breach of by his behaviour.... male also seen to cause damage at hospital.... male now sticking toilet paper over the camera in his cell!

“Needless to say he’s in for the night!”

The 48-year-old has been remanded to prison, pending a hearing later this month.
