Man arrested for begging in Chesterfield town centre
A 53-year-old man has been arrested and charged with begging in Chesterfield town centre today (February 11).
Carl Broadbent, of Danby Avenue has been bailed to attend Chesterfield Magistrates Court on March 11.
A statement from police said: “We will not tolerate any behaviour that causes harassment, alarm or distress to the people in our town centre.
“If you're homeless, speak to us and we will support you to find suitable accommodation. If you're not, don't come in to our town begging.”
