A major Chesterfield road has been sealed off by police after a ‘serious incident’ which saw a pedestrian hit by a car.

Officers have blocked off Derby Road between Hornsbridge Roundabout and Baden Powell Road after the crash this afternoon (Wednesday, January 6).

A video taken by a driver shows multiple police cars and ambulances at the scene.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said there had been a collision between a pedestrian and a car.

“Please avoid the area and find an alternative route,” they added.
