Adam Ashton and Sam Robinson were among a group of people at Norfolk Pizza on Christmas Eve, High Peak Magistrates’ Court heard, when a scuffle involving several people broke out after comments were made by someone in the takeaway about Robinson’s girlfriend.

Ashton also admitted being in breach of a suspended sentence order imposed at the crown court on April 8, 2013. He will be sentenced at Derby Crown Court on March 28.

Kirsten Collings, for Ashton, said he got involved to stop the incident from escalating.

Annis Rowlands, defending Robinson, said the incident was out of character and occurred after he had been drinking.

Robinson was fined £310 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £31 surcharge.
