Investigations are continuing after a man’s body was found in Chesterfield.

Police attended Chatsworth Road at 7.45am on Tuesday after receiving reports that a body had been found.

On Wednesday, Derbyshire Constabulary was continuing to probe the man’s death.

He has not yet been named by officials.

A force spokesperson said: “Officers are making enquiries to establish the circumstances of the man’s death.

“Anyone who may be able to help officers with any information is asked to contact Derbyshire police with reference 139-271020.”

A spokesperson for Chesterfield Coroner’s Court said it was not yet known when an inquest would open into the man’s death.

Many residents saw officers, police tape and a tent near the Lidl supermarket as they drove along Chatsworth Road on Tuesday morning.

On social media, people expressed their sadness at the news and offered their condolences to the man’s loved ones.
