ECKINGTON ARMED ROBBERY: Police release CCTV image

Detectives investigating a robbery in Eckington have released a CCTV image of a group of potential witnesses they would like to speak to.

The robbery happened at about 9.30pm on Wednesday, March 8 on Fir Road.

A 40-year-old man from Nottinghamshire was approached by two men, armed with a knife, who threatened him and demanded his wallet. They ran off in the direction of Elm Road.

Both men had their faces covered. One of the suspects was more than six feet tall and was wearing a dark sweater, grey tracksuit bottoms and gloves. The other was shorter, about five feet five inches tall, and was wearing similar clothing and gloves.

The victim wasn’t injured.

Police would particularly like to hear from two males and a female who were outside the nearby Premier shop at around 9pm that evening.

They are seen on CCTV near a bus shelter and although the image isn’t particularly clear, it is hoped the people pictured will recognise themselves and come forward.
