The boy was shot in the left thigh in an alleged drive-by shooting while he was talking with friends on Northern Avenue, Arbourthorne, at about 3.30pm on January 12.

Stephen Dunford, aged 25, of Fellbrigg Road, Arbourthorne, Sheffield, and Devon Gregory, 23, of Heeley Green, Heeley, Sheffield, deny attempted murder and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

PC Allcock, who travelled to the hospital with the injured boy in the ambulance, showed footage from the bodycam she wore at the time.

In it, the boy said: "You know who shot me? It was Stephen. Stephen Dunford. He used to buy me drinks."

"It's distressing to watch because there is a boy who, on any analysis, has been shot," said the Recorder of Sheffield, Judge Jeremy Richardson QC. "The tension was palpable to us all."

The boy’s father described the moment when his friends brought him into their kitchen, bleeding from the leg.

"I heard screaming," he said. "It sounded like a scattered panic. I thought something was wrong. It was pandaemonium.

"I put a tea-towel on it to stop the bleeding. He was going into shock. We laid him on the settee on his right side."

The court saw footage taken from Facebook of a rap, which it is alleged Dunford performed on a mobile phone.

The boy's father said: "He was trying to brag about shooting my son."

He told the court he saved the footage because he thought it might be deleted.

The jury also saw items of clothing containing bullet-holes, worn by the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and his friend.

Dunford has also denied a further charge of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

A third defendant, Brandon Bailey, aged 26, of Manor Park Way, Manor Park, Sheffield, also denies conspiracy to endanger life and possessing criminal property, but the prosecution does not say he was in the car at the time of the shooting. The trial continues on Monday.
