Derbyshire woman charged with fraud offence

A Derbyshire woman has been charged with a fraud offence and is due to appear before magistrates next month.

Megan Scotcher, who is from Ripley, was voluntarily interviewed following allegations of fraud in respect of charitable donations made in 2020, according to Derbyshire Constabulary.

A spokesperson for the force said on Monday evening: “The 27-year-old has now been charged with one count of alleged fraud by false representation.

“She will appear before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court in May,” they added.
