Police were called at 3.15am today (February 8), to reports of two men trying to break into the Spa store, in Castleton Road.
They used electric tools in an attempt to break in via the metal security shutters.
They drove away in a dark coloured car when residents went to investigate the noise and disturbed them.
Police have appealed for witnesses to call 101.
