Officers from Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit stopped the driver of the Toyota who said she was ‘bad with admin’.

The unit tweeted: “Chesterfield. Previously warned by letter to insure car if not declaring it off road. Didn't and added to our hotlist.

"Stopped, driver says she's bad with admin and unfortunately for her we're good with ordering recovery trucks.”

Officers were also called to the A38 at Clover Nook yesterday after a vehicle clipped a central kerb on the dual carriageway and smashed the tyre off the wheel.

"A quick look around the car finds another tyre with cord exposed,” the unit said.

"Apparently it wasn't like that when he got in. Ticket from us and a £250 bill from mobile tyre fitter.”

They also seized another uninsured car, an Audi, after stopping it in Bamford.
