Derbyshire motorist caught driving while high twice – as police say dodgy tyres are ‘fatal crash waiting to happen’

A Derbyshire driver was caught twice for drug driving – and officers said his dangerous car could have caused a deadly collision.

On Friday, August 12, the Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit stopped a driver in Belper.

Officers had already pulled the motorist over once before – and they were released under investigation after failing a drugs test.

They decided to test the driver again – and he failed another drugs wipe, which came back positive for cannabis.

Officers also found that two of his tyres had no tread whatsoever – with a DRPU spokesperson labelling this a “fatal waiting to happen.” The motorist was subsequently arrested.
