Derbyshire driver caught on camera speeding at 105 mph on M1

Derbyshire police caught a driver speeding on camera at 105 mph on the M1 as part of an attempted ‘dive off’ the motorway.

Officers followed the vehicle after it was seen travelling down the motorway at speed, where the driver was then clocked speeding at 105 mph before attempting to exit the M1.

The driver faces a minimum £100 fine and three points on his license.

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit tweeted: “M1. Vehicle seen travelling at speed. Clocked at 105mph before a relatively tame 'Derbyshire Dive' off the motorway. Driver passed his test less than a year so now he's got problems.

Driving licenses can be revoked if motorists rack up six points within their first two years of driving.
