In one unbelievable case a bungling Derbyshire robber used an empty loo roll cardboard tube to stick up a city centre shop.

The shop assistant, believing the cardboard tube which McDonald held under his jumper was a gun, handed over a small amount of money immediately.
McDonald, of St Mary's Court, Derby, fled the shop in Nottingham city centre, but was chased by the hero shop worker.
He managed to rugby tackle McDonald to the ground and discovered the ‘weapon’ was in fact an empty loo roll.

![Declan Webster, 33, was jailed for 14 months after punching two women in the face – knocking one of them out cold – during an attack in the early hours in the Crooked Spire graveyard.
He left one of the woman with a cracked skull, two black eyes and a broken nose – while the other victim was left with swelling to the face a displaced tooth.
