Government guidance states: “You can exercise outdoors, or visit outdoor public places, with the people you live with, your support bubble, or one person from another household.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said they could not comment on this specific incident but added: “We appreciate it is hard for children and young people to not be tempted to meet their friends at evenings and weekends – especially when they are allowed to be together all day in school.

The spokesperson also had an important message for parents.

“Please explain to your children what their actions could lead to,” they said.

“Encourage them to follow the current rules and also the hands-face-space guidance to keep those around them safe.”
