Child tested after picking up hypodermic needle in Clay Cross

Clay Cross SNT said they had been contacted by a woman on Wednesday, July 29 after her child had been ‘pricked by a hypodermic needle’ found in woodland off Clay Lane.
Officers said the incident was ‘concerning’.
The child has since had to have a number of hospital tests and its family are waiting for the results.

Hide AdChesterfield Borough Council have been made aware of the incident and the Street Cleaning Team are out cleaning the area.
A spokesperson for Clay Cross SNT said: “Please make sure that your children know what these look like and if they see any needles lying around to report it straight away.
"For a more urgent response we would request that you call 101 so officers can be deployed immediately.”
