Chesterfield Borough Council is warning residents about a possible scam which is doing the rounds in the area.

People have reported receiving phone calls from someone regarding changes to council tax banding.

A council spokesperson described it as a ‘potential scam’.

“Please be aware and remember to be vigilant,” the spokesperson added.

“Please do not give bank information to cold callers.”
