Calls for increased safety measures after car crashes into lamp post in Chesterfield
Police were called to a Chesterfield road after a car crashed into a lamp post.
It happened on Handley Road in the New Whittington area at around 8.50pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, January 14).
It is understood the vehicle knocked down a 30mph sign during the collision.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said: “The vehicle was recovered shortly after 10pm.
“There were no arrests or injuries.”
There have been calls for increased safety on the road, which residents say carries a high percentage of traffic.
