Breached court order

A Buxton man breached a non-molestation order after staying at his ex-partner’s house, a court heard.

Stephen John O’Brien stayed at Lianne Gardner’s house on April 22, breaching the order which had been imposed at Stockport County Court in September, High Peak Magistrates’ Court heard.

He left the address after an altercation with Ms Gardner in a Vauxhall Astra that wasn’t insured, prosecutor Jennifer Fitzgerald said.

O’Brien, 31, of Cliff Road, admitted breaching the order on the basis that Ms Gardner had invited him round to her property on Alders Meadow in Chinley.

He also pleaded guilty to the no insurance offence and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence.

Rebecca Wrack, defending, said: “Mr O’Brien entered prompt guilty pleas and made full and frank admissions in interview.

“It was a single breach and there have been no previous breaches.”

Magistrates adjourned the case until May 21 so a pre-sentence report could be prepared.
