A boozed-up driver has been arrested after crashing into a lamp post in Chesterfield.

In a tweet, Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit said a Mercedes driver ‘wrong sided a keep left bollard, crashed into a lamp post and lost control’ at the A619 and Brimington Road junction.

The tweet added: “How does this happen? Over twice the drink drive limit will do it. Arrested, to be charged when sober.”
