Armed police stop drunk Chesterfield motorist driving dangerously through the town

Armed units stopped a dangerous driver in Chesterfield – who was found to be drunk behind the wheel.

On Sunday, July 3, Derbyshire Police received reports of a motorist driving dangerously in Chesterfield.

The car was spotted by an armed response vehicle as it pulled into a car park off Boythorpe Road, across from Wickes.

Officers found that the driver was significantly over the drink drive limit.

The Derbyshire Armed Response Unit said that the risk was “removed from the road”.
