Appeal after Mansfield driver crashed car during Chesterfield police chase

Police are appealing for information after a Mansfield driver crashed his car during a police chase from Chesterfield to Bolsover.

A white Volkswagen Golf was stopped by officers in Sheffield Road, Stongravels at around 2.45pm on February 4 but then fled the scene.

The male motorist left Chesterfield at around 2.50pm and drove towards Arkwright along the A632, before heading off the Chesterfield Road towards Bolsover.

The Volkswagen was abandoned in a driveway off Castle Lane after he crashed the car into barriers just before 3pm.

A 32-year-old man was then arrested by officers on Main Street in Bolsover shortly afterwards.

Adam Horner, of Brown Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse, was charged with dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.

He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on February 5 where he was remanded in custody and will appear before Derby Crown Court on March 5.

Officers are appealing for drivers with dashcam footage of the Golf to call police on 101, including reference 21*070420.
