Appeal after Ford Transit van stolen in Chesterfield neighbourhood

Police are urging Chesterfield residents to come forward with information after a white Ford Transit van was stolen earlier this week.

The vehicle was taken from Chester Street in Brampton near the junction of Chatsworth Road at 7.13am on February 22.

CCTV identified that the white Ford Transit van was driven along Catherine Street with no lights on, during the getaway.

PC Webb of Chesterfield South Safer Neighbourhood Team is appealing for witnesses or residents with CCTV in the area to assist his enquiries.

It comes after an offender in dark clothing, wearing a baseball cap reportedly walked along the junction of Chatsworth Road and approached the van, before making off in the vehicle within 60 seconds.

Another vehicle was also allegedly seen to drive away from behind the van moments earlier.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the male or vehicle should call police on 101 or via the Chesterfield Safer Neighbourhood Team Facebook page quoting crime reference 21000104215.
