Anger as vandals spray paint cars, windows and buildings in crime spree through Chesterfield streets

Residents have expressed their anger after vandals spray painted cars, windows, and buildings in a part of Chesterfield.

The crime spree is believed to have taken place overnight in the King Street and Queen Street areas of Brimington.

Multiple people took to the Brimington Residents Facebook group this morning to share images of the vandalism – showing cars, walls, windows, and garages daubed with blue, yellow and green spray paint.

Kath Mardles, whose husband’s car was among those targeted, said they discovered paint on the car lights, wing mirrors, and bonnet, this morning (Friday, October 1) as she shared pictures with the Derbyshire Times.

Other residents have also reported their windows being smashed, although it is unclear if this is related.

Derbyshire police have been contacted for comment and we are awaiting a response.
