Adorable photos show stolen Spaniel Lucky back home in Derbyshire at last

These cute pictures show Phil Littlewood with his Springer Spaniel Lucky – returned to him two weeks ago after a seven-month absence when he was stolen.

The canny canine, delivered back to his relived owner by police, was taken from Phil’s garden in January.

Phil, who wonders “how many times he’s changed hands”, received a phone call from Reading in August from a caller saying they had the prodigal pooch.

Mechanic Phil, though sceptical it was a hoax at first, said when he heard his best pal’s familiar bark “I knew it was my dog”.

Derbyshire Times visited the reunited pair at Phil’s Stanfree home and, though Phil admits Lucky is “a little bit less obedient than he used to be”, the spritely Spaniel looks glad to be home.

Police confirmed a 34-year-old man from Minsterworth, Gloucestershire, was arrested by Gloucestershire Police in June, in connection” with the theft.

After being questioned by officers in Derbyshire he was released under investigation while “enquiries continue”.
