Duncan Codling, of Wessington, supported the company’s charity of the year, Prostate Cancer UK, raising money for the charity’s Sledgehammer Fund. Duncan cracked a walnut, which is a similar size to the prostate, with a sledgehammer for every donation of £5 or more that was received by Prostate Cancer UK for one hour.

Duncan, head of pensions and severance at the Royal Mail’s Chesterfield site, said: “I was delighted to join Prostate Cancer UK’s nut cracking team to help ‘crack’ the tough nut that is prostate cancer.

“This was a fun way of raising awareness for a very serious disease that affects so many men throughout the UK.”

People are urged to donate £5 to The Sledgehammer Fund by texting CRACK to 70004 or visiting prostatecanceruk.org
