Cow saved after Bonsall mine shaft fall
Rescuers were called to the scene when a cow fell down a mine shaft.
A team from Derbyshire Cave Rescue Organisation was called to rescue a cove from the Beans and Bacon Mine, on Bonsall Moor, last Tuesday.
The animal was in old narrow workings about four metres below the surface and was unhurt. Team members found another entrance to the mine and they spent a couple of hours enlarging the passage and coaxing the animal to safety.
