Concert helps young musicians

Music–lovers can enjoy some classics while helping a local charity.

The Priestley Taylor Guitar Duo will perform at Wirksworth’s United Reformed Church on Saturday, March 15, with proceeds going to Wirksworth’s Music Lessons Fund.

The evening will start at 7.30pm and finish around 8.45pm featuring works by De Falla and Vivaldi. The Wirksworth Music Centre Recorder Consort will play in support.

Since 2000, the Music Lessons Fund has been financially supporting the lessons of children whose families cannot afford to pay the full cost.

Currently the fund is helping with violin, piano, clarinet, singing, drum and viola lessons. The concert is supported by Derbyshire County Council’s Youth Action Grant initiative.
