Clowne youngsters learn about staying safe

Youngsters in Clowne learn all about staying safe from their local Safer Neighbourhood policing team.

Children at Clowne Infant and Nursery School were visited by PCSO Suzanne Fox from the Clowne Safer Neighbourhood Team.

She said: “The visit was a great way for me to engage with the children at an early age and talk to them about all about the work that we do to help keep them, their family and the community safe.

“Quite a few youngsters said they felt scared to approach a police but it is really important that they have confidence and know who their local officers are so that if they are ever in trouble and need help, they know a friendly face they can turn to.”

The youngsters also asked questions, and took part in a colouring competition for the best picture of a police officer. PCSO Fox will return to the school next week to announce the six winners.
