Chesterfield beauticians tracked down on Facebook after OAP train rescue

Kayleigh Valeisa, owner of The Pamper Shack, and her colleague Shelley Riley, offered their help to the woman who had taken the wrong train.

The duo were tracked down via Facebook so the woman’s family could say thank you for their help.

Kayleigh, 36, from Poolsbrook, said: “We had been on a course in Scotland and had to change trains at Manchester.

“She was distressed and had taken the wrong train from Southampton.

“We offered to sit with her on the way home and just had a chat and shared our Mini Eggs and cappucino sachets.

“She told me she had been visiting her sister who had been ill and were sitting together when her sister died.

“We got on like a house on fire and when her grandson collected her at the station, I knew I was going to miss her. She reminded me of my nan who’s no longer with us.”

The woman’s family tracked Kayleigh and Shelley down through Facebook and visited the salon to present them with prosecco and chocolates.

Kayleigh added: “I couldn’t believe the reaction on Facebook, with people saying we’d done something great. To me it’s just normal, what anyone would do. But it was nice to hear from the family and our new friend is welcome into the salon for one of our cappucinos any time.”
