Care home staff raise £950

The hardy ramblers set off from the care home at 10am on Friday, April 5, and walked nine miles to Bakewell.

Julie Allen, unit manager at Lilybank, applauded all the members of staff that gave up their free time to take part in the walk.

She said: “All the money raised will go towards our social fund which means we are able to provide our service users with regular entertainment such as singers, trips to the seaside and lunch outings to countryside pubs.”

“I’d also like to thank everybody who made a donation too,” she added. “The money will really make a difference.”
