CALVER: Crews rescue three crash casualties

FIREFIGHTERS freed three crash casualties from the wreckage of a collision between a car and a lorry.

The collision happened on the A623 road, at Calver, at the junction with the B6001 road, about 4.45pm, on Monday, June 10.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “Police were in attendance at the incident and alerted the fire service and an ambulance was requested.

“A hatchback car and a lorry had been involved in the collision and three people needed extrication.”

Staveley, Chesterfield and Matlock fire crews helped release the casualties by about 6pm and they were taken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital and Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

Witnesses can call Derbyshire Constabulary on 101 to help establish exactly what happened.
