Butcher’s burger tipped for top spot

A catering butcher from Leabrooks has scooped a top prize in a national burger competition.

Owen Taylor & Sons was named overall winner in the ‘Foodservice’ category with its new improved recipe 6oz lamb and mint burger and now stands a strong chance of claiming the ‘England’s Best Burger 2014’ title.

The four category winners will find out who makes the best burger at the Meat Management Awards on June 4. Carl Evans, operations manager at Owen Taylor, said: “It’s fantastic news! The whole team is really looking forward to finding out whether we have the best burger in England – it’s a huge accolade!”
