Boy, 16, punched in the face by a man at a Derbyshire park

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old boy was assaulted in a park in Derbyshire.

At around 6.10pm on Friday, July 1, the victim was with two friends in playing fields off Waingroves Road, Ripley.

A teenaged girl entered the playing fields and was seen to make a short call on her phone. Two men then walked onto the fields and approached the victim. One man punched the boy in the face.

The victim has described the teenaged girl as white, aged about 15 and with long straight hair. She wore white jeans, a short sleeved pink top and sunglasses.

The man who assaulted the victim is white, in his early 20s, about 6ft tall and of large build. He wore black jeans and a white t-shirt with a blue Jack Jones logo on the front.

His friend was white, aged about 18 and slim. He wore a black Adidas jacket and trousers, a black cap and carried a black bag.
