Blaze at pensioner’s home in Pinxton
Fire broke out at an elderly woman’s Pinxton home at 5.45am today.
Crews from Alfreton and Ashfield tackled the blaze in Alexander Terrace.
A spokesman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A call came in from a neighbour who heard a smoke alarm sounding. Crews found a small fire in the downstairs of the property.
“The property was smoke logged. Crews ventilated the building and left one edlerly lady in the care of the ambulance service.”
Her condition is not yet known.
