Banned driver is caught behind the wheel of a van

Kevin Conway, 35, was stopped by police on Baker Street, in Creswell, after he had been driving while disqualified and without insurance, according to Chesterfield magistrates’ court.

Prosecuting solicitor Sarah Haslam told the hearing on Friday that he had been disqualified after a conviction for dangerous driving and other motoring offences.

Conway, of Ann Street, Creswell, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance after the incident in January.

Rob Sowter, defending, said Conway has now passed a road test. The case was adjourned until Friday, May 13.
