Chesterfield FC chiefs are appealing for witnesses after a bottle was thrown onto the pitch during last night's game.

The incident occurred during the game against Bromley after Zavon Hines scored a 90th minute equaliser for Chesterfield from the penalty spot.

The bottle was thrown from the Motan Colortronic (South) Stand.

Director & company secretary Ashley Carson said: “We understand the frustration of the fans and sympathise with them. However, throwing bottles - or any objects - on to the pitch is totally unacceptable as it could cause serious injury. Any supporter found guilty of such an offence will be banned from entering the stadium.

“This incident has been reported by the referee and as a result, there could be serious consequences for the club. If anyone can identify who threw the bottle, or if the person involved is willing to admit their guilt, they are urged to get in touch with the club.”

Any information relating to this incident, which will be dealt with in strict confidence, should be emailed to fans@chesterfield-fc.co.uk.
