Accolades for dedicated Bradwell teachers

Head teachers of two Bradwell schools have been celebrating afer they were rewarded at a recent special ceremony.

The heads of both Bradwell schools were pleased to receive long service awards from Derbyshire County Council.

By a remarkable coincidence, Geoff and Kim took up their posts at their schools in Bradwell on the same day in September 2009.

Geoff Wharton said: “It was wonderful to see both of our schools represented at the award ceremony. We’re fortunate to have such experienced leaders for our two schools in the same village. The children will be very excited to see the photographs in school, 25 years will seem like an eternity to some of them.”

Kim Attwood added: “It really doesn’t seem like 25 years ago that I started teachin, time really does fly when you are having fun.

“It really is great to be able to work in partnership with Mr Wharton in order to provide the best learning experiences that we can for the children of Bradwell.”
