A-level pass rate is 100% at Ockbrook School

Ockbrook School is celebrating a 100 per cent A-level pass rate, with four students receiving straight A* and A grades.

All A-level pupils gained a grade A-E, with 28 per cent achieving A*-A and 60 per cent A*-B.

Eighteen-year-old Kathryn McAllister, from Oakwood, achieved two A* and two A grades in her results, securing her place to study law at Oxford University.

Ockbrook’s overseas students also achieved exceptional results. Anna Tofilska, from Poland, achieved an A* in biology, chemistry, maths and further maths and an A for her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

Ho Chi Wong, from Hong Kong, achieved an A* in chemistry and maths and an A in physics, while Zita Hui, also from Hong Kong, gained an A* in biology and maths, an A in chemistry and an A at EPQ.

All students studying the EPQ were successful, with four students gaining A*/A grades.

Headmaster Tom Brooksby said: “These results are the product of a great deal of effort on the part of our students and the support they receive from the school and their parents. They are very well deserved.

“The 100 per cent pass rate is another indication that our teachers have also excelled with strong results across the full range of subjects.”

All students completing A-levels at the co-educational independent school received confirmation via UCAS of their higher education place, with the vast majority being accepted at their first-choice university.

They will be studying a broad range of subjects including engineering, pharmacy, music, history and law.
