The best part is that there are options to suit all budgets. You can have a lavish getaway or a blast on a budget and still have the time of your life this summer.
Here are some of my favourite places to stay that are both unique and off the beaten tourist track.

5. The Florence Nightingale Suites, Holloway
Built in 1820, the Lea Hurst estate sits on the edge of the village of Holloway and overlooks the stunning Derwent Valley on the edge of the Peak District National Park. More interestingly, it was the home of Florence Nightingale and pays homage to the life of this remarkable woman. Four historic suites have been thoughtfully restored and range from a Deluxe Queen – cosy quintessential luxury – to the Honeymoon Suite with a large balcony and triple aspect sitting room. There’s also a Family Suite with two rooms. The breakfasts are incredible, and a night here starts from £200. Lea Hurst, Lea Shaw, Holloway. Call 078609 55767 Photo: Submitted
