Revew: Ellie Goulding at Sheffield Arena

With a grand build up of flashing lights, energetic dancers and swathes of golden fabric Ellie Goulding appeared from above. In leather hot pants and a studded jacket to match the singer was very energetic on stage which kept the whole audience moving and singing along. The good vibes were well maintained with the help of four very talented dancers who must have had more outfit changes than there were songs!

Ellie kept her audience guessing with her quick outfit changes and random appearances around the stage, there was never a dull moment. It was nice to see a change from all the bouncing around stage and raunchy dancing as she slowed it down and opened up to the audience about the real meanings behind her songs, it left the audience feeling humbled and felt like the real Ellie. She joked as she was heckled by the audience and even put on a glow stick that was thrown to her by an eager fan.

Ellie Goulding’s voice sounds even better in real life than it does on recordings. She wished she could have stayed all night singing and we all wanted her as our best friends.

John Newman was a great support act and his energy really got the crowd excited. You could tell that he was really enjoying being on stage in an arena filled with people as he was throwing things around and being grabbed by his female fans.
