5. Winster Market House
Winster Market House is a Grade II* listed building currently in use as a visitor exhibition centre. The building was commissioned in 1570 and completed in the 16th century. It was used for agricultural markets but trade declined significantly in the late 19th century, with the building eventually becoming the first purchased by the National Trust in Derbyshire back in 1906.

6. Traditional country pub
The Old Bowling Green is one of the oldest pubs in the area - with the privately-owned free house dating back to 1472. The current owners of the pub have been at the helm since 1990 - and it is perfect to visit if you’re looking to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat.

7. Popular events
Winster Wakes is a week-long carnival that is held each summer in the village - with stalls, entertainment and a Wakes Parade taking place.

8. Scenic spot in the Derbyshire Dales
Another popular Winster event is the pancake races that take place on Shrove Tuesday - which also include a pancake tossing competition.
