The wait is nearly over! South Yorkshire's brand new £37 million theme park finally opens its doors this Saturday.

Set in 250 acres of countryside a stones throw from the popular Rother Valley Country Park, minutes from the Sheffield border, Gulliver’s Valley boasts 50 attractions for a brilliant family day out or a memorable holiday for those staying longer.

As guests enter the resort, Gully Town can be found on their right-hand side of the entrance street, just before the first of two on-site restaurants. This area is aimed at younger children, with interactive play areas, mini golf and Grand Prix driving school as well as a soft play area – YooHoo Playzone, carousel and a mini Tree Top Drop ride.

Further ahead is the Dragon’s Lair, an indoor play area with climbing walls, a giant bouncy castle and caving.

On the left of the entrance street you will find the party room and the Lilliput theatre, which has space for 400 people and will feature live children’s entertainment for overnight guests. Customers can also eat in the pizza restaurant next door.

You can’t miss the Lilliput Carousel straight in front of you as you walk outside, and the mini DIY’ers will find the Build Zone immediately on their right. Further ahead it’s the Mini Farm – complete with a real horse – but petting may not be allowed just yet.

Next up is Toyland, where you can look out over Rother Valley from The Ferris Wheel and ride an elephant on the Jumbo Jetters before saving the day on the Frantic Fire Trucks and cooling off on the Rockin’ Tug water ride.

Beyond that is the Western World. Grab a bite to eat before the bank heist – but make sure the sheriff doesn't catch you. Then it’s time for the Desperado Drop and Rocky Ridge Railway before taking on the park’s biggest ride – the Apache Falls.

Still full of energy? The Lost World awaits, with paragliders, Dinosaur Rodeo and the gigantic T-Rex water slides. If you’re not soaked enough make sure you take a river tour, but beware of the reptiles at Crocodile Creek in Smugglers Wharf, where you can also ride the Ghostly Galleon.
