There’s nothing worse than having a day out ruined by unexpected weather. To make sure you’re prepared, here’s a report of the weather for Bank Holiday Monday.

Generally, the weather will be mild across Derbyshire on Bank Holiday Monday. In Derby, the temperature is expected to peak at 20 degrees celsius (68 fahrenheit) and to bottom out at 12 degrees celsius (53.6 fahrenheit).

In Chesterfield and Bolsover, it is expected to be slightly colder, but only by one celsius. The minimum temperature will likely be the same as Derby’s. Amber Valley and Erewash are both expected to peak at 18 degrees celsius (64.4 fahrenheit), while High Peak will be the coldest region in Derbyshire on Bank Holiday Monday – temperatures aren’t expected to go higher than 16 degrees celsius (60.8 fahrenheit).

Over the whole of Derbyshire, the temperature will be an average of 17 degrees celsius (62.6 fahrenheit). As a result, you shouldn’t worry too much about keeping warm.

Will there be any rain in Derbyshire on Bank Holiday Monday?

While it isn’t expected to be particularly sunny, the chances of rain are minimal for the August Bank Holiday. In Derby, Chesterfield, Bolsover, Amber Valley and Erewash, the chances of rain do not exceed 10%.

Only in High Peak is there a greater chance of rain than this on Bank Holiday Monday. In this region, the chances of rain are elevated to 20%.

This does not mean rain is impossible, especially with how cloudy it’s expected to be everywhere in Derbyshire. It may be a good idea to pack a raincoat, just in case.

How high will the pollen count be?

Approximately 10 million people suffer from hay fever symptoms in England – therefore, it’s generally a good idea to check the pollen count before you go outside.

In every region of Derbyshire on Bank Holiday Monday, the pollen count is not expected to be particularly high. All the towns, boroughs and districts currently display a moderate warning level in term of the pollen count. Due to this, if you suffer severely from hay fever and the like, be careful if you plan to go out on Monday.
