18. Great Ridge route
Adrian Brown recommended the Great Ridge route, which passes Blue John Cavern in Castleton. He said: “For an easy but very scenic walk, you can't beat the classic Great Ridge route. I lead guided walks all across the Peak District, and most of those on my walks agree that it has some of the best views around. And at the end of it, there are some excellent pubs in both Edale and Castleton for a celebratory drink and a hearty meal. Yes, it can be busy at weekends, but if you can do it in the week, it's usually a lot quieter.” Photo: jason chadwick
