Launch of Chesterfield 42k Challenge bitesize marathon

A bitesize marathon which aims to get Chesterfield residents outside and active has launched.

The Chesterfield 42k Challenge is made up of seven routes which participants can choose to run, walk or jog in any order or at any time before the end of the year. Routes range from 4.5k to 10k and include road, mixed terrain and trail

Kat Valk, a Chesterfield resident who set up Top Kat Events last year during the pandemic and designed the challenge said: “I wanted to create something that would encourage local residents to get outdoors and take part in a challenge that they can choose to do their own way.”

Entry to Chesterfield 42k Challenge is via the event website. Complete all seven routes before December 31 to receive an exclusive finisher’s medal. Entry is open now and the first 100 entries are only £20.

Participants are encouraged to make a donation or raise money for Ashgate Hospice.
