Families celebrate Chatsworth’s outdoor attractions reopening

Throngs of visitors have descended on Chatsworth to celebrate the lifting of lockdown on outdoor attractions.

Families are making the most of Easter school holidays to visit the farmyard and playground which reopened on Tuesday this week.

Jonathan Fish, head of marketing, said: “It was wonderful to see so many people back at Chatsworth for the reopening, especially families meeting the animals in the farmyard and children enjoying the adventure playground.

“The sun was shining and visitors made the most of the weather, exploring the newly opened areas of the garden, which is looking fabulous at the moment as all the flowers are coming into bloom. The day had a real feel of celebration about it for visitors and for colleagues."

Visitors to the gardens, which reopened on March 29, are able to see the work that has been done on the remodelled Rock Garden as well as the Maze borders, the Ravine, the Trout Stream and the Jack Pond since the first lockdown last year.

Chatsworth House will remain closed until May 18.
