Life in the theatre play ignites Ember's flame

Bitchiness, sentiment and humour will be flowing in the story which Embers Theatre Company will share with audiences this week.

The troupe will perform Ronald Harwood’s The Dresser, an affectionate and intelligent play about life in the theatre.

Directed by Drew Davies, the cast includes Phillip Hadley (the dresser), Margaret Thompson (Her Ladyship), Mike Parkinson-Brown (Sir), John Cameron (Geoffrey Thornton), Karen Pinder (Irene), Richard Parkinson-Brown (Mr Oxenby) and Naomi Conway (Madge).

A television play of The Dresser was nominated for three BAFTAs and won two.

Embers Theatre Company’s production runs at The Little School, Barlborough, from Thursday, June 16, to Saturday, June 18, at 7.30pm. There is a licensed bar.
